Madiba House, Barbados.

MADIBA HOUSE
Barbados
The request for a modern tropical house by a most gracious couple and a trip to South Africa was the genesis of this tropical vacation home. The exactly square site is divided into a series of parralel zones perpendicular to the road. These zones slide against each other so that the rear facade is stepped in order to allow the main rooms to get direct access to the cooling breezes from the East. The roof deck (for star gazing) cascades down to Master bedroom terrace and then to the front deck in a similar way to the rear of Le Corbusier's Villa at Garches. Contractor- Smith & Sons
